Established in December, 2013, EP-Africa is an NGO operating in Ghana. Building on over 10 years of experience.


Target: Youth (15-35 years), MSMEs and Smallholder Farmers (SHFs).


Cross cutting themes: GESI, climate adaptation and mitigation, strong institutions, and effective governance.

Partnership Intent

Escape Poverty-Africa is seeking partnerships with Donors, Government, Private Sector, and International Development Organizations (INGOs) that are interested in partnering with Ghanaian NGOs to co-create and implement programs in the Agri-Food, Green Business, Circular Economy, and Sustainable Energy sectors.


We are also seeking to explore partnerships to carry out research, monitoring, and evaluation activities to inform program design, implementation, scale-up, and investment decision-making.

Escape Poverty (EP)-Africa is led by a very dynamic Director with 18+ years’ experience in Private Sector Development and Project Management with focus on Sustainability, Environmental and Social Performance Management, Entrepreneurship and MSMEs Development, Climate Change, renewable energy, green business, Clean Cooking, Low Carbon Technologies, Partnerships Development, and resource mobilization.


Escape Poverty (EP)-Africa has a very robust corporate governance system in place; a 7-member Advisory Board with a strong background in accounting and finance, Leadership and Governance, Business Law and human rights, Information Technology, Entrepreneurship and small enterprises development, agriculture and agribusiness development and good governance.


We have an Accountant and Operations Manager with over 15 years of experience in banking and the non-profit sector. 2016 edition of QuickBooks accounting software is used for project accounting, financial management, and reporting.


The organization is composed of 5 permanent staff, 30 contract staff at peak seasons, and 50 Associate Consultants (20 international and 30 local consultants) with over 15 years of experience and expertise in the field of development spanning research, monitoring and evaluation, agriculture and agribusiness, financial management and accounting, resource mobilization, program and project management, entrepreneurship and enterprises development, environment, economics, transparency, and good governance. We leverage the experiences and expertise of our Associate Consultants in the successful delivery of assignments for our clients.

Farm Development Plan (FDP) Program

Increased farm yield for 3500 Cocoa farmers due to adoption of best agronomic practices such as timely weeds control, fertilizer application and pruning.


3500 cocoa farmers adopt climate smart agricultural practices such as planting of shade trees on cocoa farms.


3,500 cocoa farmers in Ashanti, Western and Brong Ahafo regions receive coaching support to ensure best farm management practices.


MSMEs associations development and capacity strengthening

80% of MSME associations transition from informal to formal state through registration with Registrar General’s Department, District Assemblies and Ghana Revenue Authority


Adoption of best business practices such as business records keeping and improved customer relations


Improved capacity of MSMEs to access finance; able to show cash flow, Profit, Loss statements etc. to financial institutions


100% of MSMEs recorded increased sales and profits


100% of MSMEs associations able to develop constitutions to govern their operations


10 MSMEs associations coached and mentored to develop business plans


Research, Monitoring and Evaluation

Completed soil mapping and data collection on 150 cocoa farms in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Western Regions that fed into the production of Map to the Future (M2F): Integrating soil mapping into cocoa farm development plans in Ghana report.


Research on access to finance and BDS services in the Western Region successfully completed; meeting client quality expectation and deadline.


Aquaculture Project Terminal Evaluation successfully completed; meeting client quality expectation and timeline.


Ghana Cocoa Rehabilitation Project

750 Hectares of CSSDV infested and overaged cocoa farms treated (pre weeding, cutting, arboricide application and hacking)


GPS locations and area measurements of all treated sites recorded and shared with client.

The Team

Faustina Ethel Ametepe is Grants & Contracts Manager with eHealth Africa in Sierra Leone. She has over 15 years’ professional experience with multiple donor project management. Prior to her current position she worked with Chemonics International Inc, on a USAID funded Ghana Feed the Future Agricultural Policy Support Project and Management Systems International (Local Governance and Decentralization Program), also a- USAID sponsored project.


In her current role, she is responsible for managing and ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the eHealth Africa (eHA) country office grants portfolio (USAID, CDC, DFID, Bill and Melinda Gates) throughout the entire award life-cycle, from pre-award to closeout, to ensure compliance with eHA, donor, and legal requirements as well as high performance in line with programmatic goals. Overall responsibility is to provide policy guidance and interpretation for staff as well as grantees and ensure adherence to grants management policies.


She also administers sub awards through proposal solicitation, evaluation of grant proposals and budgets and assists technical staff and beneficiary applicants in revising their proposals as appropriate. She also identifies training need for grantees and organize training workshop on best financial management and administrative procedure. She undertakes follow up monitoring of the financial and project performance of grantees, in ensuring compliance with grant terms and obligations, to ensure the fulfilment of anticipated grant-supported activities.


She has great organizational, interpersonal and communication skill, a well-organized lady who holds honesty and integrity in high regards and strives to achieve transparency in her work. Very innovative personnel who is always open to new ideals, and have strong potential for growth and highly motivated by constant progress. Faustina is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and holds Master of Science in Strategic Management from Atlantic International University. She is also holds a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University
